Sowing Instructions

1. Soak seeds in lukewarm water for 12–24 hours before sowing. Do not leave them soaking for several days.
2. Sow about ½ inch (1 cm) deep in well-draining soil, outdoors after frost risk has passed and the soil has warmed.
3. For an indoor start, use individual pots to reduce root disturbance when transplanting.
4. Keep the soil evenly moist, not waterlogged, and provide warmth around 70–80°F (21–27°C).
5. Provide bright light as seedlings emerge. Gradually acclimate indoor-grown seedlings outdoors before transplanting.

Trellis Support & Care

• Choose full sun and well-draining soil.
• Install a trellis, netting, or other support while plants are young. Thin rods or strings give twining stems something to wrap around.
• Gently guide young stems toward the support. Use loose, soft ties only where needed.
• Water at soil level when the surface begins to dry, especially during establishment and in containers.
• Avoid excessive nitrogen fertilizer, which encourages leafy growth at the expense of flowers.
• Remove developing seed pods to limit self-seeding and keep vines away from neighboring plants you do not want covered.
