Sowing Instructions

1. Start indoors 6–8 weeks before your last expected frost, or sow outdoors once frost risk has passed and the soil has warmed.
2. Sow about ¼ inch (6 mm) deep in moist, well-draining seed-starting mix.
3. Keep around 70–80°F (21–27°C). Maintain even moisture without waterlogging.
4. Provide bright light as seedlings emerge. Transplant into individual pots once they have several true leaves.
5. Gradually acclimate indoor-grown seedlings outdoors before planting. Space plants about 6–12 inches (15–30 cm) apart.

Support & Care

• Choose full sun and well-draining soil. Use containers with drainage holes.
• No climbing trellis is needed. If taller stems lean in an exposed spot, use a small stake or flower-support ring with loose ties.
• Water regularly while plants establish, then water when the soil begins to dry. Avoid leaving roots in standing water.
• Pinch young growing tips to encourage branching, and remove spent blooms or cut stems regularly to keep plants tidy.
• For dried arrangements, cut fully developed flower heads and hang stems upside down in a dry, shaded, ventilated place.
