Features
- Package: 100+ seeds for planting.
- Warm-season annual marigold.
- Large double flowers in creamy white tones.
- Tall, upright habit for borders and cutting gardens.
- Seeds only; live plants, cut flowers, pots, and accessories are not included.
Sowing Instructions
- Start indoors 4–6 weeks before your last expected spring frost, or direct sow outdoors once frost danger has passed and soil has warmed.
- Use clean, well-draining seed-starting mix. Sow approximately 1/4 inch deep and cover lightly.
- Keep around 70–75°F and maintain even moisture without waterlogging. Germination commonly takes 5–14 days.
- After emergence, provide bright light and good airflow. Remove humidity covers gradually.
- Move seedlings into individual pots once they have several true leaves if needed.
- Acclimate indoor-grown seedlings outdoors gradually for 7–10 days before transplanting.
- Plant approximately 12–18 inches apart in a sunny, well-drained bed after frost danger has passed.
Care
- Provide at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily.
- Water at soil level when the surface begins to dry. Water regularly during establishment, but avoid persistently soggy soil.
- Use moderately fertile soil. Apply a balanced flower fertilizer according to its label only as needed; excess nitrogen encourages foliage over flowers.
- Remove spent blooms regularly to encourage continued flowering.
- Support tall stems with stakes or flower-support netting in windy locations if needed. Marigolds do not climb.
- Keep weeds clear and allow airflow between plants. Remove damaged foliage and inspect for slugs, mites, and other pests.
- For bouquets, cut fresh blooms in the cool morning and place stems promptly in clean water.
- Protect young plants from frost.
