Grow a low-growing perennial ground cover from this pack of 2000 mixed creeping thyme seeds. Start young plants for sunny borders, rock gardens, and gaps between stepping stones.
Features
- Package: 2000 seeds for planting.
- Random mixed colors.
- Spreading perennial ground cover with aromatic foliage.
- Suitable for sunny, well-drained garden beds and containers.
- Seeds only; live plants, pots, and accessories are not included.
Sowing Instructions
- Start indoors 6–8 weeks before your last expected spring frost, or sow outdoors after frost danger has passed.
- Fill trays with fine, well-draining seed-starting mix. Moisten before sowing.
- Scatter the tiny seeds thinly over the surface and press gently into place. Do not bury; light helps germination.
- Keep around 65–75°F in bright light. Mist gently or water from below so seeds stay in place.
- Maintain light, even moisture without waterlogging. Germination commonly takes 2–4 weeks, with some seedlings appearing later.
- Move small clusters into individual pots when seedlings are large enough to handle.
- Gradually acclimate seedlings outdoors, then plant approximately 6–12 inches apart in prepared, well-drained soil.
Care
- Choose full sun and sharply draining soil. Avoid low areas where water collects.
- Water regularly while young plants establish. Once rooted, allow soil to dry between waterings and water during prolonged dry spells.
- Keep weeds clear while plants spread, taking care around shallow roots.
- Trim lightly after flowering to maintain compact growth. Avoid cutting deeply into bare woody stems.
- Feed sparingly; heavy fertilizer and overly rich soil are unnecessary.
- Keep foot traffic off young plants. Use stepping stones for frequently traveled routes.
- Provide good winter drainage and keep wet mulch away from plant crowns.
Seed Disclaimer
Germination is affected by temperature, environment, and planting techniques. We sell seeds only and do not guarantee 100% germination.
