Grow your own low-growing ground cover with this pack of 2000+ mixed creeping thyme seeds. Nurture young plants for sunny garden edges, rock gardens, and spaces between stepping stones.
Features
- Package: 2000+ creeping thyme seeds.
- Random mixed colors.
- Plant type: Spreading perennial ground cover.
- Aromatic foliage for sunny, well-drained growing spaces.
- Seeds only; live plants, pots, and accessories are not included.
Sowing Instructions
- Start indoors 6–8 weeks before your last expected spring frost, or sow outdoors after frost danger has passed.
- Fill trays with fine, well-draining seed-starting mix and moisten before sowing.
- Scatter the tiny seeds thinly on the surface and press gently into place. Do not bury; light helps germination.
- Keep around 65–75°F in a bright position. Mist gently or water from below to avoid washing seeds away.
- Maintain light, even moisture without waterlogging. Germination commonly takes 2–4 weeks, with some seedlings appearing later.
- Move small clusters into individual pots once seedlings are large enough to handle.
- Gradually acclimate plants outdoors, then plant approximately 6–12 inches apart in prepared soil.
Care
- Choose full sun and sharply draining soil. Avoid low areas where water collects.
- Water regularly while young plants establish. Once rooted, allow the soil to dry between waterings and water during prolonged dry spells.
- Remove weeds by hand while plants spread, taking care around shallow roots.
- Trim lightly after flowering to keep growth compact. Avoid cutting deeply into bare woody stems.
- Feed sparingly; heavy fertilizer and overly rich soil are unnecessary.
- Keep foot traffic off new plants. Use stepping stones for frequently traveled routes.
- Maintain good winter drainage and keep wet mulch away from plant crowns.
Seed Disclaimer
Germination is affected by temperature, environment, and planting techniques. We sell seeds only and do not guarantee 100% germination.
