Begin a rewarding, long-term gardening project with this pack of 100 lavender-pink climbing rose seeds. Nurture young plants and train their developing canes along a support in a sunny garden or spacious balcony planter.

Features

  • Package: 100 rose seeds.
  • Plant: Rosa, perennial flowering shrub.
  • Climbing canes require tying to a support.
  • For garden growing or large outdoor containers with drainage.
  • Seeds only; live plants, bare roots, pots, and supports are not included.

Sowing Instructions

  1. Soak seeds in clean water for 12–24 hours.
  2. Place in lightly moist vermiculite or seed-starting medium inside a labeled, sealed bag. Refrigerate around 35–41°F for 8–12 weeks. Do not freeze.
  3. Check weekly for mold, drying, or sprouting. Pot up sprouted seeds promptly.
  4. Sow approximately ¼ inch deep in clean, well-draining seed-starting mix.
  5. Keep around 65–70°F with gentle, even moisture. Rose germination can be slow and uneven, and some seeds need additional seasonal temperature cycles.
  6. Provide bright light after emergence. Move seedlings into individual pots once they have several true leaves and established roots.
  7. Gradually acclimate plants outdoors before transplanting after frost danger has passed.

Care & Balcony Growing

  • Choose a position with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight and good airflow.
  • For container growing, use a deep, sturdy planter with drainage holes. Move plants into larger containers as roots develop; do not crowd mature plants into small pots.
  • Water deeply at soil level when the soil surface begins to dry. Empty standing water from saucers.
  • Install a securely anchored trellis and guide flexible canes with loose, soft ties. Roses do not cling or twine on their own.
  • Keep supports independent of unsafe balcony railings and shelter plants from strong wind.
  • Feed established plants with rose fertilizer according to the label.
  • Remove dead, damaged, or diseased growth and avoid heavy pruning while young plants establish their main framework.
  • Check for aphids and leaf disease, and remove fallen diseased leaves. Wear gloves when handling thorny stems.
  • Allow time for establishment before flowering. Protect container roots during severe winter weather.
