Start a flowering ground cover with 1500+ creeping thyme seeds in purple and pink. Grow a low carpet of greenery for sunny borders, rock gardens, and spaces around stepping stones.
Introduction
Creeping thyme is a low-growing perennial with small aromatic leaves and clusters of flowers. Enjoy nurturing seedlings into spreading plants that soften garden edges.
Features
- Package: 1500+ creeping thyme seeds.
- Flower colors: Purple and pink. Random mixed colors.
- Plant type: Low-growing perennial ground cover.
- Suitable for sunny borders, rock gardens, and well-drained planting pockets.
- No trellis required; plants spread along the ground rather than climb.
- Seeds only; live plants, pots, and accessories are not included.
Sowing Instructions
- Fill a tray with fine, well-draining seed-starting mix and moisten before sowing.
- Scatter seeds thinly on the surface and press gently into the mix. Do not bury; light helps germination.
- Keep around 65–70°F (18–21°C) in a bright location. Mist gently to keep the surface moist, not waterlogged.
- Allow several weeks for germination. Protect tiny seedlings from drying out.
- Once seedlings have several true leaves and established roots, move them into individual pots or small clumps.
- Gradually acclimate plants outdoors before transplanting after frost risk has passed.
Ground Cover & Care
- Choose full sun and well-draining soil. Avoid sites that stay wet.
- Space young plants about 6–12 inches (15–30 cm) apart to allow room to spread.
- Water regularly while plants establish. After establishment, let the soil begin drying between waterings.
- Remove weeds around young plants and avoid foot traffic until they are well established.
- Trim lightly after flowering to keep growth tidy.
